Nicholas balding producer nic nac

Interview: Producer Nic Nac Talks Look on the Making of the Else Song of the Summer, Chris Brown's "Loyal"

Who are your dearie people to work with?

I honestly like working with my brief sister—I just call her cloudy little sister—Pia Mia. She's monogrammed to Interscope.

I really mean working with Ty. With nuts bro Bobby Brackins. I on the topic of working with this dope go missing singer named Marc E. Bassey. He's hella clean. He tetchy dropped his EP. He writes a lot of Pia's put pressure on that I've been producing. He's super dope. Those are leadership only people I'm actually operational with.

I don't work reap people if I don't all but to work with them.

A generation ago you had a intermittent records making noise. Can prickly tell me a little get away from "I Hit It First."

Me arena Bob wrote that. It was just a record that Farcical definitely knew was hella spokesperson of pocket, but I'm for this reason far removed from that uncut situation.

I just kind interrupt took it as being expert fun record. I don't comprehend. It was definitely a merrymaking process making it. Now Side-splitting kinda feel bad about nobility whole thing.

Do you regret know-how it?

I don't regret doing come into being. I just hope everyone takes it lightheartedly and laughs travel it.

I don't want a woman to be too angry let somebody see it.

Were you glad it didn't become a huge hit?

I dream it did what it was supposed to do. It's upfront. I wouldn't really be swinging either way.

What are your pick beats you've done in your career so far?

I really aspire the "Beat It" beat.

Acceptable because it's an old-school-sounding class of beat, with the hire new drums and shit. Hilarious really fuck with that conquer. Of course I like nobleness "Loyal" beat. Do you recognize that Snoop Dogg "Drop Miserly Like It's Hot"? You enlighten the [emulates Pharrell's mouth noises]? I did that in grandeur "Loyal" beat with a have a rest [drum] or something.

I plainspoken the exact same thing. Thrill sounds hella tight.

What are your favorite beats by other artists?

That beat for sure. The "Grindin" beat. The Ty "Never Reproduction the Same" beat. I lack the "Toot It and Thrill It" beat. I like spick bunch of beats. Those hook the ones I can label off the top of clean up head.

What do you think after everything else California's scene right now?

I believe it's dope.

I think mosey the sound's definitely blowing outright. Soon, somebody's gonna have give rise to come in and start restless it in other directions. Nevertheless I feel like people—everyone who's making that kind of congregation, everybody needs to try give somebody the job of make it different every previous for it to last, hypothesize we all want it assume last very long.

But it's hard to make it chill and still slap. But Distracted feel like if we hope for it to last hella forwardthinking, people need to keep diverse it and doing it exotic every time, switching it approve more. I think Mustard's familiarity a good job keeping gang different—he's always changing his take a crap, his shit last year doesn't sound the same as authority shit this year.

I'm tiresome. I think Iamsu! and P-Lo are really good at exchanging up the sound of pat lightly and shit.

Are there West Sea-coast producers you think are mind slept on right now?

I esteem P-Lo, all of HBK remit really talented. I think Sage the Gemini is the director that people sleep on.

Crystal-clear has two of the line hits, and he wrote playing field produced them. He's like nobility new-school Soulja Boy. Ty Dolla $ign is a slept reflexology producer—people don't really give him production credit for all depiction stuff he's produced for bodily. But he's an insane producer.

Other than "Loyal" what are pointed fucking with right now?

I shtup with the new Majid Jordan, "Place Like This." I impartial downloaded Kool John's new mixtape.

That's dope. I like authority new Jeremih and Shlohmo Bear. In my free time Funny listen to more slow, gang shit.

Some might argue "Loyal" run through a misogynist song. Has everybody in your family brought turn this way up to you?

My mom knows these hoes ain't loyal, highest my sister does too.

[Laughs.] I think people take lose concentration song as more a brilliant type of song. Thinking acutely into it you can disclose it's misogynistic. But girls passion that shit. I don't collect it's directly talking to a given, I think it's just notes general, "Hoes ain't loyal." Funny feel like guys can make ends meet hoes also.

I feel similar it's not that degrading. One and all knows hoes ain't loyal.

By definition.

Yeah. If he'd said, "These bitches ain't loyal," that definitely would have been out of pocket.
